day 4 of my outing
finally someone noticed
me working in the shadows
attracting trouble in the light
that is bugs
in the code and on the ceiling
today i decided
i will see the world
in my sandals
a kilometres long levada
took us far from our group
replanting regional bananas
hopping over waterfalls
i discovered my fear of heights
walking exposure therapy
by a 500m high cliff
for longer than recommended
i pretend to be a tough cookie
but when asked
i would have lied
the day was wrapped
in a warm blanket
of sunshine, fake whales
tuna steak and garlic bread
at Ponta do Sol, the sun tip
without leaving a tip
the espresso in my veins
flowing past midnight
life just can't get
any better than this
