do you know how much this cost in Norway?

I honestly did not know

because the salary I had was so low

but it did not matter

the company I worked for

helped me get all warm and cozy

in my apartment on top of the hill

with the ocean view

that 50% of my rent must be for

I unresided Estonia in March

landing in Trondheim with a snow storm

coming in cold

I started in a new country

new job, new people, all alone

back to muay thai on my first week

got overwhelmed of socializing in an office

for the first time in my life

(I started careering in March 2020)

but realized how much better

it could have been for so long

you’ve got to be kidding me, April

there are 4 seasons in one day

but those few other days

I went downhill

and cross country downhill skiing

the first of two times last year

baked a bunch of bread (b/p)roducts

watched the sun finally reach

inside my windows

and wore shorts for the first

13 degree summer-like day

went sailing for the first time

my fishing skills weren’t enough

to ever do that again

May might come again

but so will winter

and cabin trips are cozier

when covered in snow anyway

and a week later it’s so warm

we could pick up trash on a beach

and then one of the peaks

of all of last year: EUROVISION

it needs another post

but just for the record

I went to Liverpool, for the final

but missed the most important

national day of Norway

I will do anything in my power

to fix that mistake this year

I just need the flights to work out

June is just wonderful

sadly I wasn’t here for most of it

but the time I was

I went back to my childhood, to Ås

met my kindergarten best friend

who showed us around

the past and the present

realized I am too old for Tusenfryd

in 25 degrees heat

that is the Oslo area

then, a day before leaving Norway

went on a camping trip with colleagues

made porridge in front of the office

and then another peak: ICELAND

on the Laugavegur trail with my mom

where both of our wishes

were finally made true

followed by the midsommer promise

I did keep it last year

but tried to escape to Sweden for a day

the universe cancelled all my plans

so I went back home for

basically the third national day of Estonia

the Song and Dance celebration

watched the dancing in desert heat

and singing in a thunderstorm

another day to remember

July poured me with rain

back into the office

we had a social oating

porridge in front of the office

because social outings were disallowed

the flags were turning red-ish

not pink as for the Barbie movie

so I had an attempt at Cabin Office

there was no WiFi, that’s fine

but there was no electricity

because a proper cabin

is not in a cabin village

but a day of sunshine

in a week of rain

is enough to pitch a tent

and call it a home

I also got to roam around

a real Norwegian farm

experience a pig-washing

and found an oak in Trondheim

they don’t grow here, it’s too cold

I guess that’s why

the ice cream business is not thriving

and the Estonian folk dance group

is so very tiny

to be continued ✨

As you might notice, my rent is quite high.
Especially in the summer.
I’s not an addiction, it’s a lifestyle.
The bread got all twisted most of the time.
I don’t buy Norwegian flags, they usually come with my food.
The smell of April.
The first and only sailing I joined was sunny, cold and no fish were harmed or caught.
May as usual.
The first proper cabin trip of my Norwegian life! In May, with snow up until my knees.
And the next weekend was filled with sun, trash and pølse.
I am upping my Eurovision game every year for the sole purpose of not finding, but making like-minded people.
An inspiration.
Porridge tastes best anywhere, especially when cooked on camping gas in the city.
Stockholm looked all pretty for one day. I just wish I could have seen Kaleo there after all.
Somebody (!!) please enrich the Norwegian ice cream industry. Otherwise I’ll have to continue eating 3 per day every time I go to Estonia.
This is exactly what my childhood looked like, right there.
The Song and Dance celebration will forever be an event that I simply cannot miss. Maybe then the Estonian banks will also not forget about me as they’re trying so hard to do these days.
July in Norway might be very rainy but it’s also wonderfully green.
