blink-2023

and you might miss it

everything changes so fast

sometimes a rock needs

to hit the bottom

for it to erupt as new

and adapt to anything

be like water

like getting used to

11 hour flights

over our favourite pond

Atlântico

I will continue crossing this one

until I can fully comprehend

the size of the Pacific ocean

every map has it cut into two

how am I supposed to know?

white as a ghost

from snowy Estonia

I landed in São Paulo

hot like a fever and so green

I had not seen the sun

in at least two weeks

it would solve all our issues

why isn’t any party

promising more sunshine? (go vote)

I came for the pineapples

that were out of season

the avocados from the trees

that were too big

the Atlantic ocean

so cold and moody

stealing glasses and swimwear

these are not complaints

the culture is different

the only thing

I actually did mind

was crossing the street

arguing with an Uber driver

that you should stop

if a human is walking on the part

where the stripes are drawn

a lot of places

aren’t safe for walking anyway

that is beside the point

the same applies

for the post you’re reading

it is a teaser trailer

for feature poems

of my 2 weeks

turned into 6 weeks

in the country of the future

and all-year watermelon

✨Brazil✨

I promise:

this will actually be continued

Finding Airbnb’s in São Paulo is a game of luck – the first one we won.
There’s 195 countries in the world but Estonia’s flag did not make it to this display. The main market of São Paulo is lovely after you have two heart attacks walking there from the metro station 500 metres away.
The second accommodation – we lost. The neighborhood was so safe the taxi driver refused to drop us at our building in fear of his and our belongings being stolen on our way in.
