one eternity later

This is the highest the sun goes in Iceland at the end of December. And 4 hours of sunlight every day is ENOUGH for seeing Iceland if you really know what you’re doing.

it sure has Bene a while

since I will stay in Estonia

for this long a time

but not to be worry

I won’t stay for more

than three months in a row

for who knows how long

I stayed in Iceland

for two months

until I couldn’t anymore

I had bought the ticket

back home for after New Year’s

to visit my family

for the holidays

that are too expensive to travel

but grabbed the first shot

of coming to Estonia

at the beginning of December

after feeling drawn

to the literal bottom

of my existence

after being SO ready

to change apartments

but cancelling everything

because I should not

bring others down with me

so I appeared behind

my loved ones’ doors

on a Sunday at 7 AM

and stayed for Christmas

returned to Iceland

for the battlefield

that is Reykjavik

on New Year’s Eve

travelled around for two weeks

with the luckiest weather

before Iceland was almost

swept away a week later

I don’t regret moving

my one suitcase

to the land of ice and fire

four months ago

or the next time

(I won’t be long)

I had a fantastic time

made friends for life

saw that my dream place

is not a joke

but next to the Atlantic Ocean

mountains next to the sea

are called volcanoes

and they’re nice and warm

I learned more about myself

in the last month there

than I ever did before

and I know now

that I need to convert the habit

of walking for miles

from Icelandic standards

to anywhere else

I decide to go

maybe the weather

is just too good here

now, being back in Estonia

citing the classics

I ain’t happier

but I’m way less sad

and in the process of

packing my bag

for the next adventure ahead

My travel buddy has a travel buddy friend!
The sunrise (12PM) colors of Isafjördur are something else.
Found a house for big elves! (Forgot to bring the banana for scale)
Some Icelandic Christmas pictures as well! No signs of an energy crisis found..
I was wondering why there’s no one central big Christmas tree in Reykjavik – until I found one. It’s tied to the ground with cement blocks because otherwise it would fly away. Mystery – solved.
My number 1 travel buddy and stress ball all in one shark.
My number 1 lovely cat. Yes, a million pictures have been made since I returned.
Half of the gingerbread cookies our talented hands made – the other half burned black.
I also made a surprise visit to the office and wore my lab coat that has been too small for the last two years.
The artist and the art.

Guess what country we visited?! Also the cheapest and most sustainable place to fly to Reykjavik because you’re departing from a vokzal (Vilnius).
In the middle of Stykkisholmur, Snaefellsnes, Iceland. These are two 100% Estonian words – groat and rice. What?!
You can buy water for free in Iceland!
I accept paintings of this picture!
Low-tide + freezing temperatures = a crispy spectacle.
I would not recommend bringing a 34″ curved monitor that does not belong to you via Wizzair baggage from Iceland to Estonia but when it’s wrapped in an IKEA blanket, there is a chance it will survive. And it did – this time.
